June 23

The chickies had their first adventure out and about in the yard tonight. Clara loved just being with them with no fence and feeding them lettuce, though they weren't quite as interested as when they're in their coop.

June 22

Singing her newest song, "Hun-dee-dun, hun-dee-duuuun. Chickens are beautiful, chickens are beautifuuuuuul!"

June 21

Tuckered out after a long, fun day. She sure loves her loveys.

June 20

It was SO hot today, Clara and Luke had a great time cooling off in Clara's kiddie pool (which is really cold!).

June 19

The face of a happy kiddo after a morning of strawberry picking.

June 18

Clara was painting while I was washing dishes and when I turned around to see what she was giggling about she had stuffed her whole piece of paper into the bowl of water meant for her brushes! She told me she was "washing" the paper. We moved her experiment to the sink and she had a great time playing with the wet paper plus a second piece of dry paper and discovering how the paper changed when it got wet. Love my little creative, accidental scientist!

June 17

Riding with Daddy on Father's Day - a favorite activity for both of them!

June 16

Bringing lettuce to her chickies.

June 15

More pool fun, this time at Grandma Pat's pool! She loved this little floating seat!

June 14

Fun at the pool!

June 13

Feeling better and playing with rocks at the soccer field!

June 12

My silly kiddo!

June 11

Poor sick girlie. 103 fever is no fun! Watching Pooh Bear with her drinks and her blankie, "It will help me feel better, Mommy."

June 10

We visited a new playground today! Clara loved it and is already asking to go back.

June 9

I think as long as she was supplied with food and drink, she'd spend most of her waking moments out with her chickies! Notice Flag, who got to meet them as well.

Clara had a blast at our friends Tracy and Renee's animal sanctuary this morning - it's one of her favorite places to go! Luke was trimming their horses and Clara was determined to help. She found a little clip gouge (that looks like a mini hammer) and was searching for things to "pound on." She sat on the tractor while Luke was trimming some of the more difficult horses (and I was helping) and made many visits to a feral mama kitty who currently lives in a crate in the tack room. I love that we have so many dear friends with lots of animals who love having Clara over - she is just so in her element around them! They all seem to love her too, even the ones that are a little nervous around us adults.

June 8

Yep, our backyard needs to be mowed...

"Mooommmyy! I have bug bites on both of my left hind heels!!!"

June 7

A little break from chick pics - Mama's big helper whisking the eggs for quiche!

When I made a green smoothie for lunch with lots of lettuce, Clara took one sip and said, "I'm not too sure about that, Mama." Her expressions are so funny these days!

June 6

A happy chicken girl!

While playing with her colored rice: "Mommy, baby Joy likes to eat this rice. Hard. But that's not possible! That's just funny...." *courtesy laugh*

I have been hearings lots of stories about "my daughter" lately. I'm not sure where she got the idea to talk about her daughter, but she tells me things that happened at "my daughter's farm" or that her daughter is thinking or doing all the time!

June 5

Our chickies first day outside! Clara loved feeding them lettuce and other leaves and watching them play and be silly.

June 4

Pretty little girl in a pretty little dress.

June 3

Back home and back to being silly as usual!

June 2

No pictures. :( We spent most of the day at Grammie and Bapa's where Clara got to see guinea pigs and play with Mommy's cousins Amber and Gray, who were both super sweet with her. She enjoyed it immensely! About 4 in the afternoon we headed out to complete our drive home.

June 1

Last day at the beach. Brave girl loving the water!

May 25

Aaaand, we're off! Sometimes the only way to stay sane in the car is to eat your own feet...

May 24

Chatting with her chickies before we head south for Pinckney Beach Week!

May 23

Apparently she wants to be a baby again, because she thinks she still fits in the laundry basket too...

May 22

These cute little "bermuda shorts" are actually pants, infant size 3-6 months. Yes, they do actually fit my 33-month old daughter. She found them in a bag of baby clothes that a friend had borrowed and put them on herself.

May 21

Pounding in stakes, just like Daddy.

May 20

More pool fun! She insisted on goggles again: "You can get me some pink ones, Beka!"

May 19

"Doing some work" on the chicken coop "for Daddy...."

May 18

First time in the pool this year! She wore the goggles the entire time - here she had taken them off and put them back on by herself. She was SO much braver in the water than last year, we were glad as this seemed like good prep for our beach trip.

May 17

Just trying to get as close to nature as possible...

May 16

Best chick pic ever.
